Night Walk Lucknow

This walk takes you through the illuminated views of Lucknow’s landmarks, allowing you to learn about the local culture and history from a different perspective.

Itinerary:

1. Meeting point: Teele Wali Masjid, Pakka Pul, Machchhi Bhavan, Lucknow-226003.
   • Introduction to how Lucknow became the capital.
   • Overview of the Tour route.
2. Bada Imambada (12 minutes):
   • Learn the history of the imambada and how it was created by the architect Kifyat-ullah.
   • Learn about the qualities of Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula.
3. Rumi Darwaza ( 12 minutes):
   • Learn about its architecture.
   • The climax of the tour.
4. Husainabad Clock Tower (12 minutes):
   1. Gothic-Victorian architectural marvel designed by Richard Roskell Bayne.
   2. History of Lucknow’s role in the revolt of 1857.
5. Satkhanda (12 minutes):
   1. Learn the history related to Nawab Mohammad Ali Shah.
   2. Learn why Satkhanda was left incomplete.
6. Chota Imambada (12 minutes):
   1. Learn about its significance amongst locals.
7. Gol Darwaza and the oldest market of Lucknow (60 minutes):
   1. Learn about the most famous landmark of the city.
   2. Wazir Begum of Awadh originally designed the Gol Dawaza, later altered by the British with Italian-style domes replacing the concrete elephants.
   3. The gate was often visited by Asaf-ud-Daula for rooftop kite-flying.
   4. Explore the Chikan artwork, Zari, Itar.
   5. A visit to “Unani Shifakhana”- built in 1832 by King Nasir-ud-din-Haider.
